The pickup service is now available at 2,000 Walmart stores in 29 states and includes purchases of wine, beer, and spirits, depending on local laws, the company said.

Home delivery of alcohol is available in 200 stores in both California and Florida, with more locations being added in accordance with local and state laws, Walmart said.

“No matter what’s on your shopping list, Walmart Grocery Pickup is helping our customers keep time in their busy schedules,” Tom Ward, SVP, Digital Operations at Walmart said. “Now, without ever leaving their car, customers can pick up the perfect bottle of wine for dinner or beer for the big game. That’s something worth raising a glass to.”

The option to add alcohol to a grocery order can be done online or in the Walmart app. A personal grocery shopper will select the items ordered, including all alcoholic beverages, where a time slot can then be reserved for pickup of these items or delivery to a customer’s home.

Delivery and pickup times for alcohol may be restricted by local laws.

At the time of pickup, customers will need to provide valid photo identification to verify that they are at least 21 years old before they can receive their alcohol purchase.
